UNESCO published three new guides intended to strengthen Education for Sustainable Development across schools and education systems. They address a whole-institution approach, teaching methods and competencies, and the assessment of learning.

The tools draw on a 2024–2026 research project and practice from 41 institutions in 10 countries. Schools and higher-education institutions expanded existing work or tested activities suited to local contexts, while educators’ feedback informed revisions to the guides.
