Iran official sees potential to lift exports to Russia to as much as USD 20 billion
The trade-promotion chief said current exports of USD 1–2 billion could grow by tapping more than USD 50 billion in overlapping Russian import demand.

Iran Trade Promotion Organization head Mohammad-Ali Dehghan Dehnavi said exports to Russia could rise to USD 10 billion or even USD 20 billion at the first Iran–Russia Trade Development Summit in Gilan’s Anzali Free Zone on October 7. IRNA reported his remarks on October 8. Dehnavi described current exports as USD 1–2 billion and said more than USD 50 billion of Russian imports overlapped with goods Iran could export.
He said the Iran–Eurasian Economic Union free-trade agreement had removed tariffs on 87% of goods and created a competitive advantage for Iranian exporters. The USD 10–20 billion figure is Dehnavi’s estimate of potential if that market opportunity is activated, not current export performance.
