Cereal, vegetable-oil and sugar sub-indices rose month over month, while the meat index fell and dairy was stable. FAO said the overall index was 5.8% above a year earlier but remained 15.1% below its March 2022 peak.

The sugar index recorded the strongest monthly gain among groups, rising 6.1%. Some prices used for the latest meat-index months are not yet available, so FAO derives those values from a mixture of projected and observed prices and notes that revisions can follow.
