Brazil’s oil and fuel regulator ANP said on October 9 that it had signed a technical and operational cooperation agreement with the municipal consumer-protection agency Procon in Guarulhos. The arrangement covers oversight of businesses that transport, retail or trade petroleum products and biofuels.
Trained Procon staff may collect fuel-price information and inspect regulated activities on ANP’s behalf under service orders issued by the agency. The work plan also includes georeferencing businesses and consumer education. The agreement runs for 60 months, may be extended and involves no transfer of funds; the announcement reports no inspection outcomes or price changes.
