Wind generation increased 9.4% to 19.2 terawatt-hours, while solar output matched its prior record at 8.4 terawatt-hours. DESNZ linked the wind increase to new capacity and stronger wind speeds.

The quarterly share exceeded the previous high of 54.8% from Q3 2025. These figures measure generated electricity during Q2, not installed capacity or a forecast.
