Türkiye–Canada talks focus on scoping a trade agreement

The ministry outlined a goal of completing preparatory work by late October.

Ömer Bolat met Canadian International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu during the G20 meetings. The ministry said they aimed to complete scoping work for a free trade agreement by the end of October.

The statement put bilateral trade at $4.5 billion. The statement identified energy, defence, transport, the green economy and digital transformation as cooperation areas. Completing exploratory talks would not itself mean the agreement had entered into force.

Qatar launches Doha Investment platform for its domestic portfolio
