New Swedish rental housing averaged SEK 2,565 per square metre

Statistics Sweden said annual rent in newly built rental dwellings averaged SEK 2,565 per square metre nationwide in 2025, a 10.3% year-on-year increase.

The monthly rent for a newly built three-room apartment was SEK 13,571, and average living area was 53 square metres. These figures describe new construction, not rents across the entire existing housing stock.

The 2025 survey excludes tenant-owned apartments. SCB cautions that comparisons across years can be affected by differences in the mix of new projects.
