South Korea’s agriculture ministry said revised enforcement rules take effect on 22 October. Online marketplace intermediaries must tell sellers which agricultural and fishery goods require origin labels, how to display them and which false statements are prohibited.
Platforms may provide a persistent notice, a dedicated information screen, or individual electronic or written messages. The ministry sets fines of KRW 1 million for a first violation, KRW 2 million for a second and KRW 4 million for a third or later violation. The announcement establishes a platform information duty; it does not report enforcement cases.
