Sharjah utility completed maintenance at 138 substations in H1

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) completed scheduled maintenance at 138 33-kilovolt substations in the first half of 2026, WAM reported on October 3. The authority also reviewed and approved 367 engineering plans for new substations and electricity-network development.

SEWA said it completed 25 technical studies for new consumers and nine studies on the transmission network over the same period. Its wider maintenance programme covers 218 transmission and distribution substations, with work continuing on those not yet completed; the authority did not give a completion count for that wider plan.

Afghanistan approves electricity networks in AFN 2.7bn procurement package

Afghanistan’s Procurement Commission approved 12 of the 30 projects discussed on 12 September, with a combined value of about AFN 2.7 billion. The deputy prime minister’s office said the approved projects included electricity supply and distribution networks in several provinces.
