Afghanistan approves five-year electricity development plan

Programme combines generation, transmission and distribution.

A July 7 official release announces approval of Afghanistan’s five-year electricity development plan, including 25 generation projects using hydropower, solar, wind and coal.

The programme also includes 13 unfinished and 23 planned transmission-line projects alongside distribution investments. These counts describe a project portfolio, not commissioned capacity or closed financing for every project.
