Afghanistan approves electricity networks in AFN 2.7bn procurement package

Afghanistan’s Procurement Commission approved 12 of the 30 projects discussed on 12 September, with a combined value of about AFN 2.7 billion. The deputy prime minister’s office said the approved projects included electricity supply and distribution networks in several provinces.

Afghanistan’s Procurement Commission approved 12 of the 30 projects discussed on 12 September, with a combined value of about AFN 2.7 billion. The deputy prime minister’s office said the approved projects included electricity supply and distribution networks in several provinces.

The meeting also approved amendments to 10 projects, cancelled two contracts over contractor performance deficiencies and ordered several works to be re-tendered. The announcement gave no separate cost or capacity for electricity networks; AFN 2.7 billion is the total value of all 12 projects.

Kushk–Tirpul contract sets $200m initial investment for seven gas blocks
