Saudi Red Sea renewable utilities enter commercial operation

Acwa announced commercial-operation certification for Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea utilities. The system combines 340 MWac solar capacity with 1,227 MWh battery storage.

The 25-year concession also covers desalination, wastewater, cooling and waste management. Acwa identifies SEPCO III as EPC contractor; utilities operate independently of the national grid.
