RTE began three new construction sites in Normandy as part of the second phase of its Seine Loop Energy Transition project. In a 14 October release, the French grid operator listed work on the Roseaux substation at Saint-Jean-de-Folleville, a 225 kV underground connection between Noroit and Roseaux, and a 400 kV overhead line between Rougemontier and Roseaux.
RTE said the reinforcement is intended to connect low-carbon generation with new industrial and household users from 2029. The company says electricity use in the area could quadruple by 2035; that is a projection. Starting the three sites does not mean the project is complete or the connections are already in service.
