France’s energy regulator CRE approved a shared electricity connection zone in Fos-Lavéra on 8 October. The decision authorizes transmission operator RTE to anticipate and share works for new consumer and public distribution-network connections.
The plan aims to add 2,500 MW by end-2029 to 600 MW of existing residual capacity. CRE estimates gross works costs at €636.4 million in 2025 economic conditions. This is not solely the amount billed to new users: the decision sets chargeable costs and a per-MW contribution separately. The capacity does not establish that all anticipated industrial demand will materialize.
