France’s Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) said on 12 October that its gas sales reference price would increase by an average 6.6% including tax from 1 November, to €194.90 per megawatt-hour. The benchmark stood at €182.88/MWh at the start of October. CRE attributed the rise to higher gas-market prices in September than in August.

The regulator estimates an average €12 increase in November bills for customers whose contracts are indexed to the benchmark. Households with fixed-price contracts are not affected; CRE said these represented about 40% of residential gas customers at the end of 2025. The PRVG is a monthly comparison indicator, not a commercial offer consumers can sign up for.
