France’s Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) authorised RTE on 15 October to build two electricity connection structures in advance for industrial users in the Saint-Avold area of Moselle. The regulator said the planned facilities would provide 1,100 MW of total connection capacity from 2029, with part of the capacity potentially available this year.
CRE set the industrial connection cost share at €19,920 per MW. RTE will continue preliminary investment studies, but construction is conditional on sufficient commitments from the industrial companies concerned. The decision approves a connection-capacity plan; it does not guarantee power generation or customer uptake.
