Ofgem chief executive Tim Jarvis set out three priorities at the Energy UK conference on 14 October: supporting consumers through the energy transition, enabling investment for growth and electrification, and making the regulator more agile and accountable.

Jarvis called for lower electricity unit costs and said network companies should be held to delivery schedules and budgets. Ofgem plans to publish an early-2027 transparent assessment of the schedule and cost status of major projects in the clean-power portfolio. These are commitments and plans stated in the speech, not completed policy changes.
