Nigeria’s Information Ministry said on October 9 that the federal project to reconstruct and dualise the Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makera–Kontagora highway was valued at about 1.5 trillion naira. It said a groundbreaking was scheduled for October 13 in Bida; the release did not say construction had begun.

The ministry said the road was expected to improve access to farming communities, markets and industrial centres in Niger State. Those were projected benefits: the source did not report spending to date, completed construction or measured transport outcomes.
