Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported a coincident-indicator level of 100.0 points for July 2026, up 0.10 point from June. Its leading indicator reached 100.8 in August, an increase of 0.02 point from July. INEGI sets the long-term trend line at 100; the coincident measure was at that line in July, while the leading measure was above it in August.

The coincident indicator tracks the economy’s general state and possible turning points; the leading indicator is designed to anticipate those turns. INEGI cautions that the composite measures do not quantify the size of a change in economic activity. They are built using econometric methods applied to seasonally adjusted components, and their reference months differ.
