Mexico consumer confidence falls 1.2 points in September

INEGI and the Bank of Mexico put the seasonally adjusted consumer-confidence index at 45.1 points, one point below its year-earlier level.

Mexico’s seasonally adjusted consumer-confidence index fell 1.2 points to 45.1 in September, according to INEGI and the Bank of Mexico. The index was also 1.0 point lower than in September 2025.

All five components declined from August, including households’ views of their current and expected finances and their assessment of the country’s economy. The survey measures perceptions and expectations; it is not a measure of household spending.

Methodology

The confidence index and its monthly and annual point changes come from the INEGI–Bank of Mexico ENCO bulletin. The index averages five household and national-economy perception components.
