IllustrationINEGI’s seasonally adjusted Global Business Confidence Opinion Indicator (IGOEC) reached 48.4 points in September 2026, according to a bulletin published on October 1. It rose 0.1 point from August but was down 1.0 point year over year. The indicator remained below the 50-point threshold for a 19th consecutive month.
The IGOEC is a weighted average of managers’ responses across manufacturing, construction, trade and private non-financial services, tracking views of the economy and their own businesses. INEGI’s methodology says the survey observes firms with at least 101 employees and has a sample of 3,138 units. It records business sentiment, rather than measuring realised economic growth.
