A two-day local consultation on livestock, fisheries and aquaculture was held in Kolondièba on 2 and 3 October as part of Mali’s États généraux process for the three sectors, according to AMAP. Administrative officials, local governments, technical services and civil-society representatives took part.

Participants examined constraints and opportunities across the sectors, considered investment priorities and reforms, and flagged questions that require national-level guidance. The process is intended to identify local progress and structural barriers and to shape recommendations that reflect conditions in each territory.

The consultation is one of a series of local and regional discussions. The ministry responsible for livestock and fisheries says the process is meant to account for territorial differences, climate effects and the impact of crises while building agreement among farmers, herders and fishers.
