Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on 30 September 2026 that its Transportation Infrastructure business vertical has formally executed twin contracts with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai for the Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor. L&T classes one contract as large and the other as significant. Under its order classification, large means ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore and significant means ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore. L&T did not give exact contract values.
The first contract covers a new road linking Al Khail Road with the extension of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, including bridges, tunnels and associated road works. The second covers parts of Al Meydan Street, including a new interchange and associated at-grade roads, and a cycling track that connects with the existing cycling network and contributes to an integrated route from Al Qudra to Jumeirah. L&T said both projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2028.
L&T said the overall corridor will extend approximately 12 km once complete and is expected to accommodate around 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions and more than 130,000 trips per day. It added that the corridor will reduce travel time between Umm Al Sheif Street and Emirates Road from 33 minutes to 15 minutes.
