IllustrationStatistics Indonesia’s August crop-area survey estimated 1.08 million hectares of harvested rice area and 5.46 million tonnes of dry-milled paddy (GKG). The latter was 2.94% below August 2025. BPS estimated the equivalent rice available for human food consumption at 3.15 million tonnes, down 2.90% year on year.
The release describes current-year figures as provisional and bases the area estimates on its Area Sample Frame survey; productivity comes from crop-cutting surveys, while rice conversion uses grain-to-rice coefficients. For September–November, BPS projected 2.23 million hectares of potential harvest area. That outlook is a forward estimate, not completed harvest.

BPS uses the Area Sample Frame (KSA) survey for harvested area, crop-cutting surveys for productivity, and grain-to-rice conversion coefficients for rice-equivalent output. The release marks current-year figures provisional; September–November figures are potential estimates.
