Norwegian aluminium and renewable energy company Hydro said it had entered customer agreements covering close to 360,000 tonnes of low-carbon aluminium for Europe’s electricity infrastructure. In a release dated October 6, the company listed the agreements among investments and partnerships it was highlighting around the ALUMINIUM 2026 trade fair in Düsseldorf, scheduled for October 6 to 8.

Hydro said an agreement with NKT covers up to 274,000 tonnes of aluminium wire rod through 2033, while an agreement with Nexans covers approximately 85,000 tonnes between 2026 and 2030. The company described the combined volume as close to 360,000 tonnes for power transmission and distribution. These are announced supply commitments, not evidence that the material has already been delivered.
