Wholesale selling prices in Germany rose 6.8% in August 2026 from a year earlier and 0.9% from July. Destatis said in its 15 September release that the annual increase was the highest since February 2023.

The office linked the rise especially to wholesale prices for energy products and raw materials. The wholesale index tracks prices in business-to-business trade and is not the consumer-inflation measure.
