Destatis estimates Germany’s September inflation at 3.3%

The flash estimate put monthly consumer-price growth at 0.6%, while energy prices rose 14.9% year on year.

Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, Destatis, said consumer prices were expected to be 3.3% higher in September 2026 than a year earlier and 0.6% above August. The 30 September release described the figures as provisional.

Inflation excluding food and energy was estimated at 2.4%, while energy prices were up 14.9% year on year. Destatis said final September results were scheduled for 13 October.
