German industrial producer prices rose 4.6% year on year in August

Destatis recorded annual increases of 8.3% for energy and 6.1% for intermediate goods.

Destatis said prices of industrial products produced in Germany were 4.6% higher in August 2026 than a year earlier. The monthly increase from July was 1.1%, according to the release published on 18 September.

Energy prices rose 8.3% year on year and intermediate goods 6.1%. The producer-price index measures changes in producers’ selling prices; it is distinct from prices paid by consumers.
