Of the EU’s 34 million active enterprises in 2024, 3.5 million were created that year, Eurostat reported on 1 October. The enterprise birth rate was 10.4% and the death rate was 9.2%.
Enterprise deaths totalled 3.1 million, with those data remaining preliminary. Businesses reactivated within two years are not counted as deaths, so this is different from a final count of bankruptcy declarations.
Investment commitments reported at end-June were 141 percent higher than in 2021. Oman also outlined port cargo, refinery capacity and dry-dock activity.
The platform will focus on the Qatar Investment Authority’s local portfolio. The government also outlined five-year expectations for US$38.5 billion in infrastructure projects and US$22.5 billion in private investment.
