Ekiti State said Governor Biodun Oyebanji commissioned an aviation fuel depot at Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport on October 19. The facility was established through a partnership between the state and Reeve Energy Nigeria and, according to the government, will allow aircraft arriving at the airport to refuel locally.

The state said an instrument landing system upgrade was at an advanced stage and aerodrome ground lighting was being installed; it put the lighting project’s expected cost at more than ₦10 billion. A separate airport power project remained under discussion. United Nigeria Airlines said it planned to move to daily flights and activate the airport’s cargo section in January 2027; these were plans, not completed work.
