The national news agency ACP, citing the roads and drainage office (OVD) and contractor Mont Gabaon, reported that work began with earthmoving, followed by roadbed preparation, compaction and asphalt surfacing.
The first work area is Époville neighbourhood and Rwenzori Avenue. The government-funded project, supervised by BCeCo, covers several main roads and construction of six bridges, with an overall planned duration of 18 months. These are project scope and schedule figures, not completed-work totals.
