Clearway Energy Group said on October 9 it signed long-term contracts with PacifiCorp for an additional 210 megawatts of battery storage at the Honeycomb Energy Center in southern Utah. The expansion comprises three new facilities in Beaver and Iron counties, and the company said construction has started.

Clearway said the project is backed by financing of about 400 million dollars and that construction of the new facilities will create at least 150 jobs. The company says its Utah fleet will reach 2,120 megawatt-hours of storage capacity across seven systems. The 210 MW figure measures power capacity, while 2,120 MWh measures stored energy; they are different quantities.
