Burns & McDonnell delivers 128 MW Georgia Power battery near Warner Robins

Georgia Power announced on 15 September 2026 that the Robins Battery Facility, a 128 MW battery energy storage system near Warner Robins, Georgia, has reached commercial operation. A celebration with state and local officials and leaders from Robins Air Force Base marked the milestone. The facility can deliver stored energy to the grid for up to four hours.

According to Georgia Power, Burns & McDonnell served as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the facility and delivered the project on schedule. The battery is paired with the nearby Robins Solar Facility. Georgia Power said the project is part of its strategy to add energy resources through the Georgia Public Service Commission’s Integrated Resource Plan process.

The release said the Robins Battery Facility is one of four battery energy storage projects approved in the 2023 Integrated Resource Plan Update. It did not state the commercial operation date, the contract value or the project cost.
