China’s coal output fell 7.7% year on year in August

Raw coal production by China’s above-designated-size industrial enterprises reached 360 million tonnes in August, down 7.7% year on year.

Crude oil output under the same enterprise coverage rose 0.8% to 18.43 million tonnes. Natural-gas output increased 0.8% to 21.4 billion cubic metres, after a 0.9% fall in July.

Electricity generation in August was 943.8 billion kWh, down 0.8% year on year; the January–August total rose 2.4% to 6,647.6 billion kWh.
