Brazil’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security published its first-week enforcement balance for illegal betting on October 2, 2026. It said 10,435 illegal betting sites were referred for blocking between September 25 and October 1; the statement does not say that every site had been blocked.

Citing Finance Ministry data, the statement said R$1.453 billion remained under monitoring for redemption across 28.65 million CPF records with positive balances. Officials also identified 3,040 social-media pages, profiles, channels, groups and servers for removal requests. These are regulatory monitoring and referral counts, not amounts seized or confirmed blocking totals.
