Abdülhamid Han drillship completes work at 20 wells over four years

Türkiye’s energy ministry reported on August 9, 2026 that the Abdülhamid Han drillship had drilled 20 wells during four years of service. The total covers its Mediterranean and Black Sea assignments.

The vessel was working at Türkali-44 when the update was issued. The ministry also recalled its role in the May 2025 Göktepe-3 discovery. The cited 75 billion cubic metres concerns that earlier gas discovery, rather than a new August 2026 discovery or produced volume.
