Sakarya gas field cumulative production reaches 6.7 billion cubic metres

Türkiye’s energy ministry reported on August 21, 2026 that Sakarya had produced 6.7 billion cubic metres of gas since 2023. Daily output stood at 9.5 million cubic metres according to the announcement.

The ministry targeted 20 million cubic metres per day through the second development phase. That was a forward target in the August statement, rather than achieved production on that date. The initial Black Sea discovery was announced on August 21, 2020.
