Westgold Resources said on 21 October that its Beta Hunt underground mine in Western Australia achieved an annualised mining rate of 2 million tonnes in September. The company said this was recorded before its interim primary ventilation system was commissioned ahead of schedule at month-end.

Westgold said it invested A$33.3 million over two years to address constraints through ventilation, dewatering, water supply, power distribution and underground infrastructure upgrades. It is targeting sustained mining at 2 million tonnes per annum from Q2 FY27; that future target is distinct from the annualised September rate.
