PLS reports 31% rise in contained lithium oxide in Pilgangoora Ore Reserve

PLS said on 15 October that Pilgangoora’s Ore Reserve had reached 249.2 million tonnes. At a grade of 1.24% lithium oxide, this represents about 3.1 million tonnes of contained lithium oxide; contained lithium oxide increased 31% against the previous reserve estimate.

The reserve update followed the P2000 feasibility study and a separate pre-feasibility study on potential underground mining. The open-pit reserve supports about 20 years of production under the P2000 plan, extending to more than 25 years if underground mining is included.

The reserve includes a maiden underground component of 46.5 million tonnes at 1.50% lithium oxide. PLS is progressing a feasibility study of the underground option; any underground development would require a separate investment decision.
