Mexico inaugurated the two-kilometre Puente Acceso al Puerto de Veracruz on October 3, three months ahead of schedule, the Presidency said. The project cost 861 million pesos and has eight lanes across elevated and lateral sections.

The transport ministry said the crossing could cut travel time by up to 50 minutes for more than 34,000 vehicles using the junction each day. Veracruz officials said 15,000–20,000 trucks also travel daily toward the country’s interior through the port corridor; the figures are government-reported estimates.
