Red Sea ports handled 15,000 tonnes of cargo on October 1

The Red Sea Ports Authority reported 14 vessel movements and 15,000 tonnes of cargo at its facilities on October 1, 2026. The ports also handled 781 trucks and 112 vehicles that day.

Imports accounted for eight vessels, 8,000 tonnes of cargo, 494 trucks and 98 vehicles. Exports involved six vessels, 7,000 tonnes, 287 trucks and 14 vehicles.

Safaga Port received the vessel ELENA from Djibouti carrying 1,120 live cattle weighing 504 tonnes for the National Service Authority. The report said inspections would precede unloading and the animals would be placed in quarantine at Safaga.
