UN Climate Change unveiled a new strategy for its Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action (ECCA) initiative during New York Climate Week on 24 September. Developed through a consultation launched in May, it aims to strengthen creative sectors’ contribution to public climate engagement and change within their industries.

Initial workstreams will cover film and television, music, and visual arts. The strategy links members’ work to the public education and engagement aims in Article 12 of the Paris Agreement and continues the initiative’s place-based work after nine decarbonization projects were piloted in Liverpool.
