UK median household disposable income reached £39,200

The ONS estimated median UK household disposable income at £39,200 in the financial year April 2024 to March 2025, up 3.5% from the previous financial year.

Median income for the poorest fifth rose 5.6% to £18,300, while the richest fifth rose 5.0% to £77,000. The Gini coefficient edged down 0.2 percentage points to 32.7%.

The estimates use the ONS Household Finances Survey. The office said its sample fell from 11,300 households to 8,000, increasing uncertainty for detailed subgroup estimates.
