Findings from the 2025 Scottish Household Survey, published by the Scottish Government on 13 October, show that 52% of households said they were managing well financially, compared with 54% in 2024. Across Scotland, 9% said they were not managing well in 2025.
The gap was larger by income: among households with net annual income above £30,000, 60% said they were managing well and 5% said they were not. For households with income of £10,000 or less, the respective shares were 28% and 26%. The figures reflect Scottish Household Survey responses; 2020 and 2021 data are excluded because they are not comparable.
