The United Arab Emirates issued “Crossed Paths,” a report examining artificial intelligence’s water and energy needs across its value chain. It covers data centres, semiconductor manufacturing and the electricity generation that powers AI systems.

The UAE’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations prepared the report with analytical support from Eurasia Group. It presents five recommendations, including a call for a global declaration on efficient and responsible water use in AI ahead of the UN Water Conference scheduled for Abu Dhabi in December. It also examines AI’s potential to improve water management, strengthen resilience and speed solutions to water challenges.
