The Economic Partnership Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) entered into force on 6 October. WAM reported that it establishes a preferential trade framework between the UAE and Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, with provisions to reduce or remove customs duties and streamline trade procedures.
Preferential access applies to more than 86% of tariff lines and covers approximately 96% of the value of goods currently traded between the sides. Bilateral non-oil trade was US$33.6 billion in 2025 and reached US$14.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up 6.2% year on year. Nearly US$50 billion in annual trade by 2032 is an expectation stated for the agreement, not an observed result.
