Heavy rain that began in the morning caused water to collect on some main roads and disrupted traffic in Tripoli and nearby areas, the Libyan News Agency reported on 13 October. Tripoli University said it had suspended classes on campus for Tuesday because of adverse weather.

The traffic office of the Tripoli Security Directorate closed the eastbound Second Ring Road from University Bridge, citing road water accumulation and safety. It directed drivers to turn right toward the university and Fernaj Island exits and follow instructions from traffic officers on site. Officials did not report rainfall totals or when the closure would end.
