Qatar’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change launched a campaign at Rawdat Al Suwairiyat in Al Ghuwairiya involving the sowing of 5,000 seeds and planting of 300 wild seedlings. The ministry’s announcement was issued on 18 October.

The work forms part of a programme to conserve Qatar’s natural depressions and native vegetation. The ministry said seasonal rain can help seeds germinate; the reported quantities do not measure restoration outcomes or seedling survival.
