Southern Energy reported completion and initial flow-test results on October 15 for the Terrible Creek 21-2 #2 vertical well in the Williamsburg Field in Mississippi. The company said the Cotton Valley “C” interval had about 110 feet of gross thickness, with 71 feet of net pay, and that it tested the well for 72 hours without hydraulic fracturing.
At the end of the test, the company reported a gross stabilized flow rate of 2.3 million cubic feet of natural gas and 50 barrels of condensate per day. The short-duration test at restricted pressure is not a production forecast: Southern said fluid-phase analysis is continuing and it expects to bring the well online around mid-November after completing site facilities. The company also said it has no reserves booked for this interval at Williamsburg.
