Copper One starts expanded Majuba Hill drilling, with Phase 1 assays still pending

The Nevada programme allows up to 3,048 metres of Phase 2 core drilling as the Canadian-listed explorer continues testing its copper-silver-gold project.

Copper One Resources said diamond drilling had started on October 23 at its Majuba Hill copper-silver-gold project in Pershing County, Nevada. The Canadian-listed company said the expanded Phase 2 programme allows up to 10,000 feet, or 3,048 metres, of HQ/PQ core drilling. It said about 5,000 feet of the initial scope had been contracted to Evolve Exploration Nevada.

The company said the programme is intended to test priority targets and support work toward a first mineral resource estimate. It reported that more than 90,000 feet had previously been drilled at the property across over 100 holes. Copper One also said assays from its completed 2026 Phase 1 programme remained pending; the October 23 release did not report laboratory grades from Phase 2.

The announcement described visible chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite in a breccia zone in a Phase 1 hole, while explicitly cautioning that visual observations are preliminary and are not a substitute for assay results. Copper One said the Phase 2 contractor uses an operational platform to provide drilling metrics, digital reports, hole tracking and core photographs. Such monitoring information describes programme progress, not mineral grade or economic viability.

Majuba Hill remains an exploration project without a stated mineral resource in the release. Copper One's target is to develop a geological model through drilling, mapping, sampling and structural interpretation. The planned footage is a maximum programme scope, subject to operating conditions and technical decisions; it does not establish that the full amount will be drilled or that the work will define an economically recoverable deposit.

The new phase follows 2026 Phase 1 drilling, not a completed resource estimate. In an August 28 technical update, Copper One said Phase 1 comprised 4,015 feet of core drilling and that the company was logging and studying the core, including petrographic and grain-scale work, to refine its geological model and choose Phase 2 targets. Assays from Phase 1 remained pending in the October 23 launch notice. The company says more than 90,000 feet have been drilled historically at Majuba Hill, but cumulative drilling length is exploration history, not proof of a defined deposit or economic tonnage.

For the initial contracted work, Copper One says one portable HQ/PQ core rig is planned to operate on two shifts, with holes potentially reaching about 1,700 feet. The technical team had not yet fixed collar locations, azimuths, inclinations or final depths in the launch release. Evolve’s EVX Connect platform is intended to provide drilling metrics, digital reports, hole tracking and core photographs while work proceeds. These are monitoring and execution arrangements; they do not supply assay grades, and the company had not announced Phase 1 assay results.

Prospectiva reports initial copper drilling results in Brazil

Prospectiva Resources reported on 20 October initial assays from the first three diamond drill holes at its São Francisco Copper-Gold Project in Pernambuco, Brazil. The company said all three holes intersected copper-bearing sulphide mineralisation consistent with geophysical anomalies.
